What began in 1933 as a pioneering contracting firm in Brakel grew, under three generations of the Van Hemert family, into an international group of companies. From earthworks and road construction to innovative recycling technology: entrepreneurship, craftsmanship and forward thinking have formed the basis of our success for over 90 years. Today, over 220 colleagues at NRC, Aerinnova and Rock Solid are working on innovative recycling solutions.
Maximising the recovery of valuable metals from bottom ash. Thanks to our techniques, materials that would otherwise be lost are given a new lease of life as raw materials for new products. The impact of this is greater than you might think. Every year, we recover enough iron to build around 8 Eiffel Towers, enough copper for 120,000 kilometres of copper wire, and enough aluminium for over 1.5 billion soft drink cans.
